Over 30 years of ethnic discrimination that led to the 1994 Rwanda genocide against the Tutsi people caused millions of death and a loss of identity. Being Rwandan in exile was taboo; people were forced to change their names to access education. "Run" is about Teta's personal experience, and a collective testimonial to identity and freedom in Rwanda.
